A grotesque, winged Puck, sitting on a toadstool. Apparently a preparatory sketch for the cover illustration of ‘Virtue’s Imperial Shakespeare’, a 40-part illustrated series published by Charles Knight, ‘with Illustrations by Cope, R.A.
