Jenisch Museum Vevey

The Jenisch Museum Vevey, the second largest art museum in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, houses a vast collection of works on paper. Since 1989, it has been home to the Cantonal Print Room, which comprises over 40,000 works from the Renaissance to the present day, placing it among the five most prestigious print collections in Switzerland. The Print Pavilion, an exhibition space dedicated exclusively to printed art, is located at the heart of the institution and contributes to showcasing prints in all their forms. The Museum also holds over 11,000 drawings, as well as the world’s largest collection of works by the Austrian artist Oskar Kokoschka.

As a heritage institution and a place open to research and scholarly exchange, the Jenisch Museum Vevey is committed to the preservation, study, and promotion of its collections through high-quality exhibitions and services.

The Vevey institution houses several public collections as well as deposits from major foundations and artists’ funds. The collections continue to grow in the 21st century through significant donations, bequests, and deposits.

In 2026, the institution welcomed the prestigious Jean Planque collection, further enhancing its reputation and the richness of its holdings.

The combined expertise of the Musée Jenisch Vevey, along with the complementary and diverse nature of its public and private collections, allows it to extend its influence beyond its immediate region and to be considered one of the leading institutions in the field of works on paper.
