Rein Dool, drawings, Custodia Fondation, Paris

June 17 to September 17, 2023

"For Rein Dool (born in Leyde on February 3, 1933), drawing has been at the heart of his artistic work for over seventy years. From an early age, he showed a predisposition for this technique, which he practiced throughout his career as a painter. As a talented draughtsman, Rein Dool has a real fondness for materials, especially paper. His work consists of landscapes, portraits, still lifes and more or less abstract figures, and reveals a great diversity of styles and techniques. This exhibition, which was first held at the Dordrechts Museum – Rein Dool has been living and working in Dordrecht since 1977 –, this is part of the Custodia Fondation's commitment to showcasing works on paper by contemporary figurative artists, such as Gèr Boosten (2015), Siemen Dijkstra (2020) or more recently Charles Donker (2021-2022)."
